Relay Electrical Services provides professional commercial electrical installations, upgrades, testing and project support for businesses across Somerset and Dorset. From our base in Crewkerne, we plan, install and certify electrical work for premises of all sizes, from a single shop refit to multi-stage commercial projects.
We work with business owners, developers, main contractors and other project professionals, taking responsibility for the electrical package so the rest of the project can be programmed around it.

Commercial fit-outs and refurbishments
We take on full and partial fit-outs for offices, shops, restaurants, workshops and other business premises, working from the early stages of a project through to completion. Electrical work is programmed around the wider project so power, lighting and data are in place when the fit-out needs them, and the installation is tested and certified at handover.

Three-phase supplies and commercial distribution
Commercial premises often need more than a single-phase supply. We install and upgrade three-phase distribution, sub-mains and distribution boards to support commercial power requirements, from kitchen equipment and machinery to new tenancy supplies and EV charging. As premises change use, existing systems can be altered and extended, with every addition tested and certified.

[ Lighting ]
Commercial lighting, design to installation
Lighting has to earn its place in a commercial building: efficient enough to keep running costs down, good enough to work under all day. We design and install LED lighting for offices, retail and hospitality, with controls and dimming where the scheme calls for it and feature lighting where the space benefits from it. Emergency lighting is designed in from the start, so the installation complies as a whole.

[ Testing & Compliance ]
Inspection, testing and certification
Commercial installations need periodic inspection and testing to stay safe and properly documented. We carry out EICRs and periodic inspection and testing, PAT testing, emergency lighting testing and fault finding, and issue certification on completion. Findings are reported in plain English, with any remedial work clearly quoted rather than buried in the small print.

Structured cabling and network infrastructure
Alongside power and lighting, we install structured data cabling, network cabinets and patch panels, and cabling for WiFi access points. Running the connectivity infrastructure as part of the electrical package keeps cable routes tidy and the whole installation coordinated. We are electrical contractors rather than an IT consultancy: we design and install the infrastructure, and connect it ready for your equipment.
