Crooked Swan
Full electrical rewiring, antique fitting installation, and a one-of-a-kind LED ship light fitting for this characterful Somerset pub and hotel.
Second living room angle - Canberra replica and chandelier
Project Overview
The Crooked Swan is a highly characterful Somerset pub and hotel with a strong sense of identity, and the owners had a keen eye for interior design to match. We carried out the full electrical rewiring of two shop outlets and a two-bedroom hotel room, working closely alongside the owners to ensure every detail of the installation complemented their vision.
A significant part of the project involved sourcing and rewiring antique fittings, wall sconces, pendant lights, ship's lanterns, and period switches, bringing them into full electrical compliance whilst preserving their original character. Every fitting was carefully stripped back, rewired to current standards, and reinstalled to sit perfectly within the eclectic interior scheme.
The standout feature of this project was the conversion of a handmade Canberra replica boat into a statement light fitting. We added LED lighting into the sections of the hull to illuminate the portholes and windows, then suspended the completed ship from the oak beam structure above the open-plan living space - a truly unique centrepiece that perfectly captures the spirit of the Crooked Swan.
